For Artists already accepted into an exhibition or Next Generation Artist Spotlight, Skip to this section.

The Vacant Museum Store is a carefully curated collection of artists individually chosen by the Vacant Museum. In order to list works for sale in the VM Store, an artist must first submit/apply to be featured in one of the Vacant Museum’s online exhibitions or Next Generation Artist Spotlight Series, and receive an acceptance message from the Vacant Museum Team. There is no fee to submit work to our shows and spotlights. There is no fee to list works for sale in the Store. Artists/ Vendors receive 100% of the price of the work sold. Instead of charging commission fees, The Vacant Museum charges buyers a small Finder’s Fee at checkout dependent on the cost of the item sold as compensation for the curatorial work done, and to ensure our efforts to support emerging artists can continue further.

All Vendor Registrations are vetted by the VM Team. If you register as a Vendor but have not yet been accepted to an exhibition or Spotlight, your registration attempt will be denied.

How to List Your Work for Sale in the Vacant Museum Store:

  • Upon acceptance into a Vacant Museum Exhibition or Spotlight, artists will receive a link to a registration page where they must register as a vendor at the Vacant Museum and follow our instructions to set up payment methods and an artist’s profile. Artists must have a Paypal account already set up in order to be approved as a vendor.
  • Once registered as a vendor, artists can then upload the work/s they intend to list for sale as individual products. This includes entering the price of the work, details including size & dimensions, weight, medium, and any other important information for potential buyers. Vendors are responsible for coverage of shipping fees. Vendors should research and estimate shipping costs and requirements BEFORE listing their works for sale and must keep in mind that potential buyers may be located internationally. The Vacant Museum recommends adding the estimated cost of shipping, plus shipping insurance, to the price of the item when listing for sale. The Vacant Museum is not responsible for shipment details or losses/damages to items sold by artists/vendors in any way.
  • Before an item goes up for sale in the Vacant Museum Store, the product must be approved by the Vacant Museum Team. Our Team will review each item to ensure there is no missing essential information, and to help Vendors correct any obvious errors. Help and Support is available for Vendors throughout the process. Simply contact help@vacantmuseum.com and we will respond to your enquiry promptly.
  • Keep in mind that a separate Finder’s Fee is added at checkout to items listed by vendors. This Finder’s Fee is dependent on the price of the item and goes towards compensating the Vacant Museum Team and ensuring that our efforts to support emerging artists can continue and expand. You can find the Finder’s Fee percentage scale HERE.
  • Once a Vendor’s item is purchased by a buyer, the artist will receive a notification with shipping instructions. Vendors must update the status of the order in their Vendor Dashboard in order to establish for the buyer and the VM Team that the order has shipped and has been completed. Vendor’s will NOT receive payment for the sold item right away. Payment from the Vacant Museum will be sent via Paypal AFTER the entirety of the sale has been completed. For this reason, it is essential to update the status of the order in the Vendor dashboard and ship items as soon as possible.

We at the Vacant Museum are proud to provide this opportunity for emerging contemporary artists to reach a global network of art lovers and collectors. By listing works for sale at the Vacant Museum, artists not only reach a wide range of interested viewers directly and all at once, but the sale of your work through the Vacant Museum helps to ensure that these opportunities stay available for other artists as well. Thank you for supporting fellow artists, and thank you for sharing your work with the world.
